Even though Earth Day was last week, it's important to keep sustainability practices in your life all year long. One thing you can think about is the chair you're currently sitting in...where does that go when it's time for an upgrade?

One of our big vendors, Steelcase, continues to improve their furniture by making it as sustainable as possible. The Think chair is pretty ahead of its time and boasts quite the track record:

So when it comes time to buy your next chair, learn what you can about it to help the environment. It may not have the 99% recycleability rate that Think has...but every little bit helps!

Easy Ways to Add Color and Style to your Office

It's been so crazy at Bank & Office recently, it's been hard to keep up with content. That is why I want to thank the Turnstone Team for letting me sum up on their great blog post - view here

In the office environment, it can often times feel bland and boring. But with the right accessories, you can turn your drab space into a fab space!

Turnstone suggests these four tips:

1. Pillows! Add an easy pop of color on that office couch for instant fun factor!

2. Add a rug! Sometimes your floor may need a little cover up. This one's pretty cool!

 3. Wall Decals!Nothing says "yeah, we're that cool" like an interesting wall art piece. Check this one out!

4. Cool Office Supplies! Sure, you could have a plain sticky notes...or you could have this!

B&OI Becomes a Green Tenant!

B&OI continues to stay committed to making our world a greener place. That is why we’re proud to announce our participation in the Hines “Green Office” initiative.  “Hines GREEN OFFICE (HinesGO) is a voluntary, internal program created to measure and reward sustainability within all Hines offices worldwide. Hines employees lead the effort in setting the standard for a sustainable future by “walking the walk” in our own offices. Hines offers the same GREEN OFFICE program to its tenants around the world. To date, approximately 300 tenants, representing more than 13 million square feet of occupied space, have achieved the designation (http://www.hines.com/about/sustainability/default.aspx).

B&OI has filled out the questionnaire and successfully meets the criteria to be an official “Green Office” (70 “leaf credits” are needed – B&OI has 77 out of 100)! We are proud to support our community in the environmental effort put forth and look forward to meeting the highest standard possible in this new initiative.
